EPW - Patek Philippe, Genève, "Extra" grade with Guillaume balance, serial number next to balance as required for observatory timing trial submission, 49mm, 18K gold OF original case with initials to rear, Jurgensen-style lips, hidden rear hinge, gold cuvette with Patek signature ring bearing marking also for retailer Shreve, Crump & Low of Boston, engraved also with 1911 presentation, white enamel SS dial, SW-SS, fully capped lever escapement with counterpoise, 21J, Guillaume balance with gold and platinum timing screws, diamond endstone, wolf's tooth winding, mvt marked for retailer Shreve, Crump & Low of Boston, fausses-côtes pattern nickel damascene, s#153487 with matching serial number to cuvette signature ring and with serial number repeated next to balance as required for submission to the Geneva Astronomical Observatory. Gross weight of assembled watch 65.2 dwt (101.4 g). This watch is accompanied by correspondence between the late Daniel L. Haff and Patek Philippe archives department stating that the watch was manufactured in 1908 and that it obtained an official rating certificate from the Geneva Observatory on October 7th, 1910. CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, small spot to center bridge inside third wheel jewel, small spot to inner perimeter of barrel bridge adjacent third wheel, mild oxide to small portion of regulator; virtually flawless dial with only infinitesimal pinpoint surface nicks just left of center and near 8; nearly mint hands, hour with finish loss at its tip; case shows light wear, no dents or dings, engraving detail with mild reduction; tight bow, crown shows light wear; good glass crystal.
